Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Personnel Support Programs (PSP), the Fitness & Sports Coordinator plans, organizes, and coordinates the operations and delivery of Base/Wing/Unit (B/W/U) fitness and sports programs. She/he monitors, evaluates, and recommends improvements to B/W/U fitness, sports and regional sports programs. She/he authorizes and administers financial transactions/commitments within an approved budget. She/he designs conditioning activities and skill instruction to reflect B/W/U physical fitness training requirements and conducts fitness evaluations. The Fitness & Sports Coordinator also coaches, manages, or officiates military sports teams or leagues on an as required basis.
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Administration, Recreation, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences, or in a related field
College diploma or certificate in Exercise Sciences, Sports Administration, recreation Management, Leisure Services, or in a related field, AND some years of experience in sports and recreation administration, or in a related field
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Current CSEP Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) qualification
Current National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in two sports
Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualifications, as required
Language requirement:  English Essential
Experience Requirements:
•       In planning, organizing, coordinating the operations and delivery of physical fitness and sports programs
•       In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
•       In evaluating physical fitness
•       In preparing and conducting physical fitness training sessions
•       In preparing and administering tournaments and sporting events
•       In officiating sporting events and/or athletic competitions
•       In budget administration
•       In coaching sports
•       In personnel administration

Salary:  $51,840 - $60,980 per annum
