(Medicine Hat) The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2019 Business Awards are officially open, marking the 19th year that the chamber has hosted these prestigious local awards. Over the years the scope of these awards has grown from recognizing the Small Business and Large Business of the Year, to the 15 awards being presented on October 18, 2019, during National Small Business Week. In addition to each of the 14 award categories, nominees all have the chance to be recognized through the pinnacle award of the evening, the ‘Award of Excellence’, in addition to going on to compete provincially through the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, Alberta Business Awards of Distinction.
‘Celebrating our businesses and recognizing the amazing entrepreneurs we have in our community is one of the highlights of our chamber year,’ stated Sarah MacKenzie, Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce President. ‘We know how hard our business community works and the ability to host them for a gala evening and to honour their outstanding accomplishments is a fantastic opportunity.’
We have chosen the theme ‘First Class’ to evoke those heady and optimistic days when air travel was exciting and an experience steeped in luxury. This year we will transport our business community back to those splendid days taking them on a “First Class” excursion that mirrors the high standards our entrepreneurs bring to business. Our awards gala will take our celebrations to new heights as we let our congratulations soar in honour of our nominees and award winners.
